My name is Morgan Gifford and I write over at The Messy Bun Mama. My husband and I are from fabulous Las Vegas, NV where we raise our two kids: Easton who is three, and Lincoln who was born in February. I love being a mom and sharing all of my favorite baby products, so today I want to talk about one of the things that completely saves my sanity as a parent- my Owlet Monitor.
When Easton was born, I spent pretty much every night feeling anxious. During the day I was always with him so I always knew what he was doing and that he was okay. But every night I would put him in bed and worry. What if something happened while I was sleeping? I wouldn’t know and there would be nothing I could do about it. I know that’s a little irrational (and maybe a tad silly) but when you’re running on no sleep and taking care of a newborn, you’re not quite in the right state of mind.
Immediately after Lincoln was born, that same track of worry set in. I remember crying to Jake a few days after leaving the hospital, “I’m just always worried he’s going to die.” Yeah. I was a little anxious. I would wake up in a panic throughout the night and check Lincoln’s breathing, and even wake him up if it seemed like something was wrong. By morning I would be completely exhausted because I was barely getting any sleep at night, and the rest of the day was spent running on fumes.
Not long after that I decided to look into the Owlet. I needed to feel like my little one would be okay, and I needed to sleep.
The day I got my Owlet in the mail was the first time I slept through the night peacefully in a month. From then on, I’ve been a loyal Owlet user. Using Owlet’s new smart sock, I can check Lincoln’s heart rate and oxygen levels whenever I feel anxious on my phone, from the comfort of my bed. And I have peace of mind in knowing that if something does happen while I’m sleeping, the alarm will sound and I will be able to wake up and check on him.
Being a parent is stressful, there’s no doubt about it. That’s why the Owlet has been a complete game changer for me and our family. I’m a lot less stressed and better rested since we’ve been using this. It’s one of the best products on the market all-around and I’d recommend it to anyone; first baby or last.

The Smart Sock comfortably wraps around your baby’s foot to track heart rate and oxygen levels using clinically-proven pulse oximetry. The base station glows green to let you know everything is okay but will notify with lights and sounds if something appears to be wrong.
