Hello! I am Noelle, the mother to two very spirited little girls, aged two and eight months. My hands are most definitely full and my days are filled with questions, concerns and lots of whys and why nots. But the one thing I never have to worry about is if my youngest daughter, Lola, is sleeping safe and soundly. This is all because of the amazing Owlet monitor we started using when she was about 6 months old. Even though she was my second daughter I still worried as if she was my first. The Owlet smart sock gave me a sense of ease because I knew it is designed to notify me if Lola’s heart beat & oxygen levels went out of range while sleeping.
Before we owned the Owlet smart sock we tried a product that clipped to my daughter’s diaper but it constantly fell off giving false alarm after false alarm and that was more nerve wracking than it was worth! Lola is a mover and a shaker at night so she maneuvers around her crib quite frequently and the Owlet smart sock stays put through it all. I love that I can see everything I need right on my smart phone (even while I’m away). It even tells you when she’s moving around which is great because with two little ones our video baby monitor scans both rooms and it is nice to have an extra little notification that she’s up or moving around before she fully awakes.
A few ways I have found value in using the Owlet smart sock is as follows:
Peace of mind: This alone makes the Owlet smart sock worth every penny! I knew I could get some sleep knowing I had an extra set of “eyes” on my baby girl. I was that mother that just laid awake staring at my girl or waking up in the middle of the night to check on her and make sure she was breathing. I have heard way too many frightening stories so from day one I always did my part in making sure I created a safe place for Lola to sleep but this was just as important of a safeguard to me. I used tight fitted sheets, no bumpers or loose blankets, the ABCs of sleeping if you will (Alone on their Back in a Crib) but the Owlet smart sock is the extra peace of mind I truly needed to get a good night’s rest.
Sleep patterns: I am a big sleep training, strict scheduler when it comes to my girls. I found that having the Owlet smart sock was just another way I could figure out Lola’s sleep patterns to determine when her “normal” night wakings were versus her “unusual” ones that may not need my immediate attention. I truly feel I have two good sleepers because of this!
Whatever your reason is for purchasing the Owlet smart sock, you won’t be disappointed in the product and what it has to offer! I had many sleepless nights before the Owlet was introduced into my life and my only wish is that we had this product MUCH sooner!
