The Christmas lists of expectant mothers might be a bit longer than usual, and probably different than her past Christmas lists. To help you with your shopping, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best ideas for the soon-to-be moms in your life.
The pregnant woman in your life needs a robot vacuum. Actually, everybody needs a robot vacuum, but especially soon-to-be moms. But vacuuming can be strenuous on a pregnant woman depending on the thickness of the carpet and the quality of the vacuum. Bending over for long periods of time and pushing a heavy machine through thick carpet can be exhausting. While she’s likely suffering from sleep loss, weight changes, aches and pains, a shifting center of gravity, and preparing for the baby, a robot vacuum can help her with one less thing she needs to worry about.
Owlet Baby Monitor
If you could wave a magic wand and give her more sleep, she would probably take that, but give her the next best thing by giving her an Owlet Smart Sock. Help her rest easier by letting the Owlet Smart Sock keep an extra watch over baby during the night. With an Owlet Smart Sock, mom can simply reach over and check her app to see her baby’s live readings. It is also designed to notify you if those levels go out of the preset range. Oh yeah, mom wants this for Christmas this year.
It may seem too simple, it may seem too easy, but a mom can never have too many diapers. Even if she’s a cloth diaper-er, you can help her with this less-pretty part of parenthood. Getting her a variety of sizes would be super thoughtful, for it isn’t too uncommon that a middle-of-the-night blowout makes a parent realize that baby needs to move up a diaper size, but they can’t easily run to the store at 2AM. Trust me, they’ll be grateful.
Late-night feedings, early morning insomnia, or lazy-afternoon snuggles are all made better by a super comfy, soft, huge blanket. Chunky knit blankets are super trendy right now but also super soft, warm and cozy. You can’t go wrong with a plush microfleece blanket, either. Baby is going to get lots of baby blankets, but mom would be happy with a mommy blanket, too.
Restaurant gift cards
Gift cards may not seem like the most thoughtful gift, but to a pregnant woman, they are extremely thoughtful. Sometimes cooking is difficult. Various smells can trigger nausea, and when she’s already extremely busy, sometimes it just sounds good to eat some good food from a good restaurant. These will also come in handy when baby has arrived and she’s recovering.
Father’s Day is rapidly approaching, and sometimes it’s hard to know what gift is the best gift for your favorite dad. Have no fear… we’re here with our new and improved 2017 Father’s Day gift guide with ten great Father’s Day gift ideas.

A Traeger grill is a great present for the griller in your life. I like that there are various grills that fit various price points, so you don’t necessarily have to break the bank to buy one.
Desk Top/Night Stand Valet
This unique, yet practical gift can also be personalized. Win. Plus, shopping small always feels good. Win-win.
While the Switch is not the easiest gift to find, there are a couple of shops that are offering it at the initial price. If you’re willing to hunt a little, you can find one for the new MSRP, which will save you some serious money.
Fisher Space Pen
This pen writes at any angle, even in zero gravity. Not only is it a nice looking and functional pen, it’s affordable as well. And if your guy is into office supplies and/or technology, this could be a winner.

This membership is a great idea for any beardy guy who likes nice shaving products. Choose the razor, length of time between deliveries and even what gift-wrap you’d like.
Leatherman Super Tool 300
This tool is the tool of all tools. It includes pliers, wire cutters, knives, a ruler, bottle opener, can opener, and a whole lot more. A nice addition to any dad’s tool collection.
It’s been a long 365 days since last Mother’s Day, and moms everywhere are ready for their annual day of appreciation and celebration. And they definitely deserve it for putting in those long hours, working weekends and holidays, with often little or no appreciation for the unpleasant tasks they tackle. Moms are irreplaceable and deserve all the praise and gratitude in the world, so here is a list of 10 of the best gifts you can give to show the moms in your life just how valuable they are to you.
1. Towel warmer
Add a little bit of luxury to mom’s everyday routine by gifting her a towel warmer. They aren’t very expensive and many models are low-profile enough to go anywhere in the bathroom, even hung on the wall. Here’s a stylish towel warmer on Amazon for right around $50.
2. Inverted umbrella
This amazing invention makes such a practical gift for mom, especially for the mom who lives in a rainy climate. Easily close the umbrella in the car without getting the interior soaking wet, and that C-shaped handle means both hands are free while holding the umbrella. It just makes sense. As a lover of practical gifts, I would love getting one of these for Mother’s Day. Here’s a link to buy one.
3. Silicone any-shape cake mold
For the mom who loves baking, this cake mold that can be made into any shape is the perfect gift. Made of BPA-free, dishwasher-safe silicone, mom can ditch her hoard of various-shaped cake pans and just keep this one on hand. I would recommend buying two sets (each set comes with 4 pieces, so she can make more and larger shapes and creations). You can get these at Walmart here.
4. Blue Apron Subscription
And for the mom who doesn’t love baking as much, meal delivery subscription services were made for her. The ingredients and instructions are sent right to her door, no shopping or researching required. All ingredient amounts are already measured and simply need to be combined and baked. This makes life so much easier for the busy mom who prefers home-cooked meals but doesn’t have a lot of time to plan and shop for them. You can buy mom a subscription here.
It’s pretty safe to make the general blanket statement that moms are tired. Most moms you know are tired. Their kids might not go to bed easily, and/or might not sleep through the night, and/or might wake up before the sun comes up, and/or might refuse to take naps. (This isn’t to say Dads aren’t tired too, but we can save the sleep he deserves for Father’s Day). So give mom the gift of sleep this year by getting the kids ready for bed yourself, letting her sleep in in the morning, or taking the kids out so she can have a nap. Make it even more special by buying her a new sleep mask, soft blanket, or luxury pillow.
6. Owlet Baby Monitor
Along the lines of more sleep, give her the gift of more peaceful sleep every night by giving her an Owlet Baby Monitor. With the app giving her a peek into her baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels, she can rest peacefully knowing the Owlet Baby Monitor is giving her an extra set of eyes to help watch over her baby while she sleeps, and is designed to notify if baby’s levels fall out of the pre-set range. With the Owlet Monitor you actually can buy a better night’s sleep. Click this link to get one now.
7. Travel voucher
Mom deserves a vacation, don’t you agree? But she probably would prefer going over dates, finances, and details with you before booking, which can make surprising her with a vacation kind of tricky. Instead of booking it for her or ruining the surprise, get her a gift card to an airline or a hotel that she can then redeem on the best terms for her schedule. This way the vacation will actually happen rather than just be talked about.
8. Beach gear (and a trip to go with it)
To extend the above idea, if you know the mom in your life has been itching to get to the beach, you can get her some useful beach gear to give her a leg up on the preparations. A big canopy tent, new beach chairs, a wagon to haul kids and gear, large beach towels or blankets, a new cooler, or even new sunglasses and a sunhat are all great ideas mom would love. If you live near a beach, like within a close driving distance or you can swing a quick flight, book a hotel at the beach for an upcoming weekend and make the arrangements (if you’re confident they’ll work with her schedule).
9. New purse or diaper bag
The odds are pretty good that mom’s diaper bag is gross. Maybe not on the outside, but cracker crumbs, loose tissues, spilled change, wrappers, toys, broken jewelry, papers from appointments, etc. have all found a home on the bottom of her bag, and cleaning out that bag is usually not high on the very long list to-do list. A second bag would be a much-appreciated gift. One that she can designate for non-kid outings or that she can simply use for a fresh start. Here’s a super cute functional bag from Target she would love.
10. Qalo Silicone Wedding Band
No more losing her wedding ring outside, or down the drain, or somewhere in the bedroom when it falls off the dresser. This new silicone wedding ring trend is incredible, and such a lifesaver for those with jobs that get their hands dirty or could damage their expensive wedding rings. These silicone bands are sleek, so much so that you hardly notice you’re wearing it, inexpensive, don’t slide off, and won’t get damaged. You can wash them easily, buy different colors to complement your outfits or match each other – they are really so versatile and functional. Keep mom’s cherished expensive wedding ring safe by buying her a Qalo silicone wedding band.
Do you know what the life of soon-to-be parents is really like? Hard. It’s hard to do things like go grocery shopping, clean the house, even eat or sleep. Food aversions, heartburn, morning sickness, and fatigue put a big wrench in regular daily activities. And once that baby is here, it’s going to be tricky to learn to adapt their daily routine to the new little boss in the house. So while other last-minute gift guides will tell you that your expecting friends want a cute picture frame or a sports-related onesie for their bun-in-the-oven, here is what they REALLY want that you can order or buy for a last-minute occasion.
Seems weird, but if you showed up with a few bags of groceries to stock their fridge and pantry, they would probably cry in delight. Seriously, just head to the grocery store and grab the basics plus some treats. It is so hard to get to the store when you’re super pregnant, or working full-time, so this will save them so much time and effort.
External Hard Drive
This is truly what every new parent needs: more room for their pictures. There’s nothing worse than opening up your camera to take a picture and getting the dreaded, “Cannot take photo: your storage is full” notification. Of course, they could always opt to pay for more storage each month, but even then the photos seem to just stay on the phone. Gifting them an external hard drive not only gives them a place to safely store all those photos, but will motivate them to actually save them and organize them… another task new parents are not-so-good at remembering.
Photo Shoot Voucher
Another case of the good-intentions-gone-to-waste is the newborn photo shoot. Every parent thinks of this and plans to do it, but because of time, money, fatigue, etc. this usually gets bumped off the list once baby arrives. But always regrettably. So do them a favor and buy them a photo shoot with a nice studio that they can redeem at their convenience. They’ll cherish the photos forever.
Owlet Baby Monitor
Do you remember every gift that specific people gave to you? Probably not. But if you give your friends an Owlet monitor, they will remember and thank you for it for the rest of their lives. Owlet is designed to notify parents if their baby’s oxygen level falls out of range. But this Smart Sock does so much more than just that, it brings peace of mind and a good night’s sleep. The gift of a well-rested new parent is priceless, and once they realize just how taxing it can be to care for a new little human, this will be the gift they cherish the most.
Prenatal Exercise Class
So remember how your pregnant friend is super tired, probably sick, likely very achy, and definitely longing for her pre-pregnancy energy? Acknowledge her current predicament by gifting her a punch card or membership to a prenatal exercise class. The benefits of exercise during pregnancy (when authorized by a doctor) are undeniable, and your friend will be grateful for the chance to get some safe physical activity in and hopefully improve some of her ailments.
Restaurant Gift Card
Soon-to-be and new parents are usually budgeting a little more carefully than before, as they prepare for all of the added expenses that come with a new member of the family. Because of this, they may have made cutbacks when it comes to recreational and leisure activities. A gift card to a restaurant they like would be a super thoughtful gift that they would be thrilled to receive.
Adventure-friendly Baby Carrier
The late-night conversations of soon-to-be parents are often filled with dreams and ideas of family trips, adventures, goals, and prospects. Help make their plans a reality by gifting them an adventure-friendly baby carrier, like an Ergo 360 Carrier. A stroller isn’t always practical for outdoorsy adventures, but a nice sturdy baby carrier can last them until their baby is well into toddlerhood. Carriers make hiking, and even strolling through the mall, so much easier.
Remember all those pictures the new mom and dad are going to take and likely do nothing with except post to Facebook and Instagram once in a while? Chatbooks makes creating a physical photo album just as easy as uploading a picture to social media. They can link their Facebook or Instagram, or even just their phone’s photo album, right to their Chatbooks app and it will automatically fill up 60 pages with those pictures in order. If you have captions to the photos on your social media, it will fill those in on the pages of the album, too. Super-fast, super-easy, super-cute, and super affordable.
