CNBC — Owlet Smart Sock Review

CNBC reporter and new mom reviews the Owlet Smart Sock! Read about her pros and cons here.

Pros:

  • Better Sleep: As soon as I got this Owlet, I actually slept a lot better.
  • Smart Design: They did a really good job with the design of the sock. It’s actually quite easy to put on and it doesn’t fall off, so that’s been great.

I thank God for the Owlet monitor. It first went off when my son was 10 days old notifying us to low oxygen levels. We were repeatedly dismissed by doctors when we brought them this info… Finally someone listened, and using a hospital pulseoximeter, confirmed that his levels were in the upper 70’s – low 80’s. We discovered that he was silently aspirating his milk, and experiencing apnea and reduced breathing ability because of it. I am so grateful for the Owlet or we would have never know… My son could have died in his sleep, or become incredibly sick with pneumonia.

As a reminder to anyone reading this, the Smart Sock is designed to track babies’ heart rate and oxygen levels and keep parents informed, but it is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition.

Hey everyone! So I really do recommend this for your child. My son was only 3 weeks old when the owlet went off in the middle of the night with a red alert. It told us his heart rate was 278 bpm. Short story is we get to the hospital with a heart rate at 300bpm and my son end up having SVT. Doctors said that is was a good thing we had this device because his situation could of ended up bad. So thank you so much owlet team!! I believe ur device saved my son life.

Christopher. My child also has SVT. Was beating almost 300. Has been prescribed atenolol. He is 3 and was recently diagnosed ☹ So far the meds work. Did your baby have a fever when SVT was noticed? Just wondering.. cause my son have more frequent fevers.

Hi Desiree, congrats on your soon-to-be arrival! We offer a 45-day satisfaction guarantee for parents to test out if they like the Owlet Smart Sock. If they find it doesn’t work for them, they’re free to return within the time period!

is your 45 day satisfaction from date of purchase or date of birth (if provided with that) i would like to purchase things ahead of time but not due until april

kyrie.r@owletcare.com'

Kyrie

Great question! The 45-day satisfaction guarantee and the 1-year warranty are both from the date of purchase so we would definitely recommend purchasing in April when your little one is about to arrive.

The best piece of mind that i could have ever imagined. It’s worth every penny and i don’t know how i lived without it with my first. I’ve let doctors know about it and al of my friends that it’s the best thing to get for your little ones.

I have been using the owlet 6 months. I love It! My granddaughter was 2 months premature but came home 2 days after she was born. It gives me peace of mind. I do check it frequently to make sure it’s working properly I’ve had to reset it once. I just called the help line. This is best invention ever..
