How to Get the Most Out of the Owlet App

Did you know your Owlet app is jam-packed with exclusive features? We want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your Owlet products and taking advantage of all the features in the app. Check out some of the ins-and-outs of the app below!

Add a New Wi-Fi Network
Want to take your little one to Grandma’s and still check up on their readings remotely from your smartphone? No problem! You can add new Wi-Fi networks to your Owlet app to stay connected to you little one no matter where you are.

Adjust Base Station Notification Sensitivity and Volume
To turn the volume off on the Base Station or adjust the sensitivity of notifications, go to Settings > Alarm > Alarm Preferences in the app. Turning the sound off on the Base Station is helpful if your Base Station is in your baby’s room. The app is still designed to notify you from your phone so you can stay in the loop.

Live Chat With an Owlet Expert
Want an Owlet expert to come knocking on your door if you run into a problem? While we might not show up at your door, you do have access to our customer service representatives right in the Owlet app! Just go to Settings > Help > Live Chat Help and we’ll have an expert waiting to help you Monday-Saturday 8 am – 12 am (midnight) [MST].

Fun Facts
You learn something new every day, so why not learn about your growing little one and read up on some fun facts? You can find all kinds of facts you’d ever want to know about your baby in the app by going to Settings > About > Fun Facts.

Update Your App
We’re always working hard here at Owlet to improve our app to make your Owlet experience even better! Stay up-to-date with all the latest and greatest app features by downloading the newest version from the app store.

Photo of Your Baby
Looking at your little one’s cute face during the day just isn’t enough. Take a cute photo and set a profile picture for your little one so you can take advantage of that cute face even when they’re in the nursery! Each time you check your baby’s vitals you’ll be able to see their sweet face. The app will prompt you from time to time, as your little one grows, to remind you to update the photo so you don’t miss a thing. Also, don’t forget to add their birth date so we can send you and your little one birthday wishes and monthly updates as they grow!

It would be awesome if you could turn the camera on and off without unplugging it! Also, an option to screen shot or record in the app would be cool too. It’s great for streaming but that’s about it.

We have twins so we have two cams and socks. It would be nice to be able to view all cams /socks at once. We also have 2 additional cams (4in total) around the house to keep an eye on things. Obviously, when viewing multiple cams you wouldn’t have sound.

I have a few suggestions on how to improve the Owlet app :). I would greatly appreciate it if they could be considered.

-I would LOVE to have the option of getting live notifications/texts to my phone when any levels increase/decrease, as well as when she goes from sleeping to ‘wiggling’. This way I won’t have to constantly look at/keep the app open. I also think it would help give me a heads up if/when the levels are about to get out of range before the alarm goes off.

-I would like the app to show how charged the sock is while it’s charging. If it hasn’t been fully charged, the only way for me to see if there’s going to be enough battery is if I take it off the charger, put the sock on my daughter, turn the base back on, and check the app. If it’s not enough, I have to take the sock off, charge it again, and guess again when I should take it off.

-Instead of battery life being shown in percentages, it would be nice to see it in hours.

-This isn’t app related, but Owlet should sell a travel case!

We use our owlet on our Apple TV by mirroring from an iPad. It would be great to have an app available to stream on apple TV directly without having to mirror from another device.

My Owlet iPhone app settings has an option for “show more connection information”…. what does this do?

If my phone is locked, or I’m just not in the owlet app, and the base alarms, my phone will not. To put it simply, unless the owlet app is open, it doesnt alert my phone at all. Is this normal? I sleep in another room so my husband would have to run to get me if the alarm went off.

Are we any closer to having a history of the Heart and O2 readings? My daughter’s alarm went off at 2am telling us her oxygen had dropped. Naturally I went straight to her room and pick her up. After I patted her on the back a few times she seemed to wake up and give a sort of blank stare wondering why I woke her:) I didn’t look at the readings on my phone to see what her oxygen level was and once I turned of the alarm the sock shut down and the reading was lost. My daughter has severe reflux which is causing a lot of congestion and fluid in her ears. A history of the her stats would be beneficial for my pediatrician. I know it’s not a medical device but a little more information would go a long way!

Hi Owlet! Will you be adding a history / chart tracking the child’s vitals every so often? This would be very beneficial to be able to show to the pediatrician in the event of reoccurring issues. Im looking for something like the the tracking app for the iwatch or Fitbit. Something to reference. Also, when an alert goes off, is there a way to log the specific alert?

While I love my owlet, it would be very helpful to have a screenshot of the heart rate and O2 readings at the time of a red alert. It could either be an automatic email sent real time with readings that would trigger a red alert or a history feature on the app.

We enjoy our owlet and it does work well on our ipad. We are excited of your release for android. A couple of other suggestions for future releases:
I would love a file or display screen with history of the transmitted heart and O2 details. Likely many feel the same.
Can we get a timer added to this app. Moms and dad’s always need timers and the future features of this device will likely want to have some time controls embedded.
Once the base station is safely on our secure WiFi. It would be nice to kill the owlet open SSID for security reasons and not have it return unless the device is manually reset.

App was working great before this update. Now it doesn’t even work. Just spins on “Give e a sec while I stretch my little wings.” Wife’s phone managed to finally open but now our login doesn’t work.
