Love Letter: Find Your Passion | Fleurdille
February 20, 2016
My dearest Abigail,
Happy first Valentine’s Day! Your daddy and I are so excited to celebrate this holiday by loving on you and your big sister. We love that we are now a family of 4 and we finally feel like our family is complete now that you are here.
Abby, I have to take a moment to brag on you. From the moment you were born, you have blessed our lives beyond imagining. You have the sweetest personality. You smile constantly; any time someone makes eye contact with you, you smile. In fact, any time you make eye contact with your daddy you laugh a laugh of pure joy. You are so incredibly calm. You are content to just lie on your back and watch your energetic sister and take in your surroundings. You are funny. We have heard you babble occasionally, but you mostly like to scream. Any time you’re happy – which is 98% of the time, you scream this high-pitched scream of joy. It is so hilarious. You are happy. So. Very. Happy. We can count the times we’ve heard your cry on one hand, and love to listen to you wake up in the morning “screaming” of joy. You are stubborn, which is no surprise given your parents’ demeanors. You are four months old now and still hate tummy time. Any time we put you on your tummy you protest and then the second we flip you over, you’re fine. Do note that your dad and I love this about you. You are a cuddler. I cannot tell you how much I love this quality about you and hope it lasts. My love language is touch and I fully welcome each and every one of those moments that you rest your head on my shoulder or wrap your tiny little arm around my arm. You also love to sleep, which should be noted because that is a quality that is very much appreciated by your daddy and me, so thank you for that!
“For this child I prayed” – 1 Samuel 1:27
Abby, I had to include this verse because it is such a big part of your story. Your dad and I didn’t think we would be able to have kids, but began praying for you and your sister years and years ago. So, know that you are a miracle. You were prayed for years before we met you, and we continue to pray for you daily.
Abby, your dad’s and my prayer for you is that you would find the Lord and develop a relationship with Him at an early age.
We pray that you would love others unconditionally.
We pray that you would not be blinded by cultural or religious differences or skin color and that you would always put others before yourself.
We pray that you understand the importance of serving others.
We pray that you will always love and care for the least of them (scripture ref).
We pray that your unending smile would always be a part of your personality, that you will always find joy in all that you do.
We pray that you dream BIG and know that you can achieve anything.
We pray that you feel loved unconditionally by us.
We pray that you feel supported in all that you do.
We pray that you feel cherished by us.
We pray that you find a passion and pursue it whole-heartedly.
