Owlet Announces Its Newest Innovation: The Owlet Band, a Prenatal Wellness Product

Owlet wants to continue helping you rest assured, but now during pregnancy. Announcing its newest innovation at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the Owlet Band will help mothers-to-be track their baby’s wellness in utero by wearing a comfortable band wrapped around their abdomen. This first-of-its-kind consumer wearable product to connect pregnant moms with their babies will allow them to track their own sleep position, hear their baby’s heart rate, automatically count their baby’s kicks, notify them of contractions and receive a wellness report to share with family and friends.

Kurt Workman, CEO of Owlet Baby Care, is thrilled to be launching the product to consumers late this year. “As a company of parents, it is important to us to bring innovative technology into a family’s everyday life in an easy-to-use form with functionality that is meaningful to the health and wellness of the baby and family.”

Soon-to-be-moms may stress wondering whether their baby is okay. But now mothers will not only be able to hear their infant’s heartbeat but automatically count their baby’s kicks, all providing a little more peace of mind.

Using comfortable soft fiber blends, the Owlet Band hugs the shape of the mother’s growing and changing body from 24 weeks to full-term and uses passive and trusted ECG technology 30 times smaller than comparable technology. Due to its thin qualities, the sensors provide outstanding comfort without compromising signal quality to “cast a net” of sensors over the entire abdomen and track an unborn baby’s wellness as he/she moves within the womb.

The Band is even designed to report on contractions to help mothers learn what they feel like and stay informed on how their body is preparing for labor. Plus, mothers can save and record audio of their baby’s heart rate, allowing them to bond with their little one months before meeting them.

“This product could be a game-changer in determining the wellness of a fetus,“ said Jeff Humpherys, Owlet’s Chief Data Scientist.

If you would like to be part of the beta testing group, or receive updates on this and other Owlet innovations, please fill out this form.

I’d love to be considered a beta tester for this product! I came across your products months ago and couldn’t wait to try them when I became pregnant. Husband and I just found out we are expecting! Due Dec 2019!! I’m a first time mom, and already know I’m adding the smart sock and cam to my registry! Would love to try this product out too.

Hi I am 29 weeks pregnant 5/11/19 this would put peach of mind for me as I dont feel contractions and worries me. I have only felt pelvic pressure with all my other ones and it is frustrating not knowing when to go to the hospital and when I would go it was frustrating to be turned away because the contractions weren’t close enough. I am high risk this pregnancy and would enjoy the pease of mind.

I would love to be a beta tester for this product. I am currently 19 weeks as of 5/12/2019. I am currently high risk and already experiencing baby movement and kicks and Braxton Hicks contractions and would love to be reassured that the contractions I am feeling are indeed Braxton Hicks and not the real deal. I went into early labour with my previous pregnancy and would love the technological reassurance that your Band could provide!

My first pregnacy ended in a loss of my son.
My second pregnacy because of what I went through was so miserable and full of worry. I bought a doppler to check on the baby frequently. She was born healthy! I am now 8 weeks pregnant and have the same fears already. I also was diagnosed with subchronic hemorrhage doctor says will be fine online makes you more crazy. This would be such a relief I would love to test it out.

Hello! I would love to get the chance to be a beta tester for this product. This is my second pregnancy, and my 1 year old son was born at 37 1/2 weeks due to a placenta abruption. After having a failure to progress, and him being sunny side up, we had to stop labor and have a cesarean. I am due in October, and because of the complicated labor, and the low birth weight (9 lbs 4.6 Oz) with our first I am now considered high risk for this pregnancy. With the fear of this baby being born even earlier, and all the complications that come from that I would love to have the peace of mind and assurance that this band would give me!

I would love to be able to monitor my unborn baby, I am 30 weeks pregnant at the moment with my 4th baby and this pregnancy seems so different than my last ones, I don’t feel the baby kick or move as often as the last pregnancies. I’m 37 years old and considered high risk, hopefully I’m chosen to give it a try! I would also love to try the sock with this baby just seems to cost so much, I understand safety of your child doesn’t have a price tag but it’s a steep price for a single mom of soon to be 4 kids

Our story is not unique, in fact it is all too common. After 5 years of Fertility treatments and finally on our 3rd IVF try, we are 9 weeks pregnant! Hi, I’m a first time mother, 16 weeks, due this September. ❤ As a first time mother I experience anxiety and uncertainty with almost everything that happens during pregnancy. This band will bring such hope and calm to soon to be mothers. Being a beta tester for the band would be absolutely amazing since I will be 20 weeks pregnant in April after my stillborn baby girl who was 39 weeks and 4 days old. We do not know what went wrong in my pregnancy since everything seemed like it was going well. I ask myself every day if I was careful enough and if I was accurately counting kicks during my pregnancy, maybe I could have prevented her loss. There are such things I will never know, for example when exactly her heart rate dropped and when it stopped beating. I know for sure this will bring such calm to mothers all over the world. The thought of technology giving us an insight on our baby’s health before they are born is something magical and it is needed for a mother who has gone through loss or who is going through a rough pregnancy.

I’d love to be your chosen tester, and even more happy to save and cherish the bond of my first unborn baby girl. I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and just a few days ago I noticed and captured my baby’s first breathtaking movement of making little waves on my belly. Today I count these little waves with all the blessings my life could offer. ♥️ And hey ! We’re also locally located right here in Reno Nevada, it’d be absolutely amazing to see this blessing band at CES and even more amazing to share every incredible detail about it to my future expecting mother’s as well. Thank you for this opportunity to win, and I wish this product to any of these beautiful mothers for they all deserve a golden motherly medal with no worries, just a healthy happy pregnancy (:

Just knowing this product is in the works gives me hope! It would be absolutely amazing to be considered to be a beta tester. My first child, my daughter, was stillborn in July 2018 at 37.5 weeks. I just woke up one day and realized I hadn’t get her move in at least 10 hours, I was never really told to count kicks and never experienced any contractions. There was no found cause for the loss of my daughter and the guilt can sometimes be unbearable. I am currently 16.5 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby. I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive as this pregnancy progresses but often my anxiety gets the best of me. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I’ve been searching for a product like this. I am due August 29th and it can not come soon enough. Even if not chosen I am so glad to see this product is in the works. Thank you!

I would love to be a beta tester! I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby. This belly band seems like it would make it easier on my mommy mind. This way I can know what Braxton hicks feel like over labor contractions. Also with her kicking and dancing it would be nice to show my significant other since he can’t feel it.

I would love to be a beta tester. Currently going through infertility treatments and to have a technology to help with the uncertainty pregnancy has after going through numerous treatments would be such an amazing thing. Theres so much paranoia involved with infertility treatments so this would be such a welcome relief.

I’m VERY interested in beta testing the owlet band. I’m 19 weeks pregnant with my sweet rainbow girl. I had miscarriage in August, and am classified as high risk due to my own congenital heart defect, miscarriage, and the pre term contractions I experienced 11 years ago with my FIRST daughter, that required serious medication and strict bed rest ONLY for the last 5 months of pregnancy. There’s also concern for how my episodes of PTSD affect this sweet angel. This product would be a godsend.

I’m expecting number two with a high risk pregnancy and would love to be able to track the baby throughout the pregnancy. The four weeks in between dr visits just isn’t enough verification for me that the baby is fine.

I would like to be included in the beta testing, I had a pregnancy that prefectly normal, my daughter didn’t move as much as my other two pregnancies, than out of nowhere my daughters heart stopped, we found out at 33 weeks pregnant at an ultrasound. She was born still. This would keep us from panicking and calling or rushing to the doctors everytime we thought something was wrong.
Thank you.

Hi,

We used the original owlet for our first son born in August of 2016 and the updated to the next version becaue he wore it so long for my peace of mind. Our second baby’s due date is in late May this year, but due to complications we are planning for his arrival in late April. This pregnancy has been nothing short of difficult stress-wise with all of the appointments and different check ups. If this was available to purchase, I would have it, but since it’s not, I would love nothing more than to test it for you guys! The owlet was nothing short of a sanity saver and miracle sleep helper for us and I’m sure this would be the same!

During my first pregnancy I had to go to the doctor a lot to double check on baby. I never felt him kick, had to go in for stress tests and ultrasounds. Baby was fine just laying in a position that I couldn’t feel him kick. I also constantly worried about if his heart was beating or if it stopped. I bought a fetal Doppler and it never could pick up his heart rate. I would love to Beta test this with my second pregnancy! We have the sock and LOVE it. Only reason I get sleep at night.

This sounds like the best product invention ever! I lost my son this past October. I was 31 weeks pregnant and hadn’t felt him move and I tried everything and when I went into the Doctors office they could not find a heartbeat. I was sent to the hospital that day to deliver him. He was born sleeping on October 2nd 2018. He was 3lbs and 4oz and 18inches long. He was so beautiful and we still do not have a reason as to why we lost him. We will never know. This would be the best thing for my new pregnancy. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and so worried that the same thing will happen again with this baby. I would love to be a part of this!

jennynielson13@hotmail.com'

I would love to beta test the Owlet band! Our first baby was born at 24 weeks and unfortunately only lived a few hours, because of this and other complications I was very anxious during my second pregnancy about having another baby too early and I would often find myself trying to wake my baby if it had been a while since I had felt him move. Having technology like this available would have been so comforting!

To add to the stress at the end of my second pregnancy we found my body was going into labor even though I hadn’t felt any contractions at all and I felt panicked and totally mentally unprepared. Having a monitor to alert me would have made a huge difference.
After our second was was hospitalized with RSV at 2 months old we used the Owlet Smart Stock to monitor his oxygen and it helped me have so much peace of mind. If the Owlet band was available right now I would definitely buy it! Please consider me for testing the band, I would love it if I could actually be able to enjoy my pregnancy this time around.

This concept will change so many lives in the future for the better. In November of 2017 I was 37 weeks pregnant with my twins and spontaneously lost our son from a cord accident. His twin sister is here with us and perfect, but doesn’t have her brother and we don’t have our son. I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and this would be the most incredible device to trial. There is no peace of mind currently and the endless pain and wonder of the past is there everyday. Please consider us! This is an amazing concept and product

It would mean so much to me & my family to be able to test this product. I delivered identical twin girls at just 23 weeks pregnant. One of our daughters passed away two days after birth, but the other went on to spend 159 days in the NICU and is about to celebrate her 5th birthday. I also delivered a little boy, born at 32 weeks, 3 years ago. Both early births were caused by spontaneous preterm labor. With my son, I contracted from 22 weeks up until I delivered him at 32 weeks. Being able to constantly monitor contractions & baby’s heartrate/activity would be so helpful for both me & my doctors. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and your product is exactly what I wish that I had in my previous two pregnancies. I would purchase it right now, if it were available. Thank you for considering me for your beta test group!

I would love to be considered to be a part of the beta testing group. I am currently pregnant for the third time. My first was a missed miscarriage, followed by my daughter arriving at 28 weeks via emergency c-section because of a full placenta abruption. Thank God I was at the hospital when it happened and after 52 days in the NICU we were able to bring our healthy baby home. I am 15 weeks and on extremely hi watch with my doctors. It would be so nice to have a little peace of mind all the other days I’m not being monitored at the office. Thanks for reading my story and considering!

This is amazing! I had preterm labor with our first child and having something like this would have helped so much and given us peace of mind! We used the owlet when we brought him home from the hospital and the second night it alerted us to low oxygen levels, his pneumonia was caught sooner and treatment was very affective. Our doctor now is an owlet advocate too! We are hoping to become pregnant with our second child soon! A tool like this is invaluable and we would love to be a part of the Beta group!

Just last week my baby passed away in utero, at 37 weeks. I only found out when I showed up to my weekly checkup and his strong heartbeat was gone. I am now recovering from a c-section with no little one to hold.
We have no answers as to what happened, the entire pregnancy was normal, I’m completely healthy, and all test result have been clear. It is still absolutely devastating. He was our first, and the thought of even trying for another baby is still so daunting, however learning about the Owlet Band gives me the hope to try again. This could have saved my baby… but at least it can now save many others, and give us the peace of mind to try get through another pregnancy someday.

Dear Amanda, I am so sorry for your loss. My baby was also still born full term this past July, totally healthy pregnancy, and we were initially given no answers for his cause of death. Only later after searching desperately for answers did we run across research by Dr. Harvey Kliman at Yale University and from him we learned our son was stillborn due to a very small placenta that could not support him. It is a very underdiagnosed cause of stillbirth because the placenta is often overlooked. So if you are looking for a possible answers, check out this possibility. Email me if you would like to know more of our journey determining the cause of our son’s stillbirth if you think it would help you. Again, I’m so sorry.

Hello, I would be very interested to test out the belly band! This is my 4th pregnancy and I am high risk due to complications last time when I had pre term labor from 5 months pregnant and was lucky enough to carry until 35 weeks when I had to have an emergency C section. He was born with underdeveloped lungs and a heart murmur. All of my children were born by c section which caused my uterus to be paper thin during the last delivery and the doctor is worried about tearing on the inside if I begin to have contractions. I will need to be monitored continuously throughout this pregnancy for the safety of the baby and myself. This is our last chance at having a baby as other medical issues have caused me to only have a 1 year window before surgery would make it that I won’t ever be able to carry and keep a pregnancy. I am currently pregnant and due September 9th 2019 and would love to be a beta tester for your new product! Thank you for your time and consideration.

I would love to be part of the beta test of the pregnancy band. I am due with my second on 7/11/19. This is an IVF pregnancy due to secondary infertility, low sperm count/motility, PCOS, and factor V leiden. I am a labor and delivery nurse and constantly check up on this little babe. I would love to see how this band works and be able to recommend it to the many pregnant women I see on a daily basis.

We lost our 1st baby at 39 weeks without warning in a seemingly healthy pregnancy. My 2nd pregnancy was full of anxiety. Hello! I just saw your pregnancy band and I am very interested! I am currently expecting our 9th baby (due date 3/2/2019). This baby has a severe heart defect (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome), so I know many things will be different this time around. Technically, baby and I are “safe” to be able to do a natural delivery, however I do have some concerns based on my prior labors/deliveries. I am usually in labor a long time and the hospital dopplers hate me. They have a very difficult time picking up baby’s heartbeat and I often go for 20-30 minute stretches without the doppler picking anything up, though baby is actually fine. I am worried this time around with the heightened risks and having more “medical eyes” on me and baby than normal that the medical staff will want to take me into a c-section because of the doppler issue. I am fine with a cesarean as long as it is needed for my baby, but I do want to do everything possible to avoid a cesarean so that I can recover quickly and be there for my baby as she undergoes her own surgery shortly after birth. I see your product as a way to better pick up baby’s heartbeat and receive the input we will need during labor. (though realizing ahead of time that the hospital staff will probably not want to use it, my hope is to use both your band and the dopplers–hoping that your product succeeds when the doppler fails). I know your product is not slated to be released until the end of this year, but I am wondering if you have a need for testers ahead of this release. I gladly volunteer! Thank you for your consideration!

I would love to be a part of this beta testing. I had a stillbirth at 34 weeks in 2017 and went for so many scans/NSTs during our next pregnancy for peace of mind. I know it wouldn’t replace this kind of hospital testing but just to be a part of the development of this product would be amazing. Pregnancy planned for sometime in 2019….I live un Canada, though so cant fill out the form. I keep getting redirected to the .ca website.
